Simple and Safe Homemade Play Dough Recipe (No Cream of Tartar)

Creating your own playdough has never been easier, and the best part is that it's non-toxic and safe for kids – though I must admit, it's not exactly delicious! This fail-proof recipe yields fantastic results every time we make it, providing lots of fun for all!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of boiling water

  • 3 teaspoons of lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon of oil

  • A few drops of food coloring (choose your preferred color)

  • 3/4 cup of flour

  • 1/4 cup of salt

Instructions:

  1. Begin by placing a pot on high heat.

  2. Add 3/4 cup of boiling water, 3 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of oil, and a few drops of your chosen food coloring into the pot.

  3. Next, incorporate 3/4 cup of flour and 1/4 cup of salt into the mixture. Swiftly mix the ingredients within the pot until well combined.

  4. Remove the pot from the heat source. Continue to mix the dough; it should be pliable and soft at this point.

  5. As the mixture begins to cool down, transfer it onto a cutting board or countertop. Keep kneading the dough until it reaches a fully cooled state.

  6. The resulting dough will not be sticky and boasts excellent longevity. Store it in a Ziploc bag when not in use to keep it fresh.

Feel free to adjust the quantities to your needs; this recipe can be easily doubled or even tripled for larger batches.

Now you have a wonderful homemade playdough recipe that's both hassle-free and child-safe. Enjoy!
