Decluttering Can Save You Thousands! šŸ’° šŸ’µ šŸ’°

Letā€™s talk about something that might surprise you: Decluttering can actually save you a significant amount of money.

And Iā€™m not just talking about a few bucks here and thereā€”Iā€™m talking about thousands. (See this blog post I wrote breaking down how 2 of my students saved tens of thousands in jaut one year!)

Hereā€™s the thingā€”when your home is full of clutter, you often end up buying things you already own because you canā€™t find them. Itā€™s easy to lose track of extra school supplies, kitchen tools, or even clothes, and before you know it, youā€™re spending more on duplicates. The problem is, clutter leads to unnecessary spending, and it adds up fast.

But thereā€™s more to it. Decluttering helps reduce ongoing expenses like cleaning services. In fact, one of my clients completely eliminated her cleaning help after decluttering and saved over $12,000 a year!

Sheā€™s not alone.

In my course I give called the Minimalist Makeover, I teach women how to minimize their surroundings and simplify their lives.

At the end of one series, I asked my students to tally up their savings, and together, they saved a staggering $67,000ā€”just by cutting down on cleaning help alone!

Think about that for a second. Thatā€™s thousands of dollars back in their pockets simply by decluttering and organizing their homes!

Letā€™s break down a few more ways decluttering can help you save:

  1. Fewer duplicate purchases: Once everything has a place, you stop buying extra stuff because you can easily find what you need. Studies show that on average, people spend about $1,100 a year on items they already own but canā€™t locate.

  2. Lower cleaning costs: The less clutter you have, the faster and easier it is to clean your home, meaning you can cut down on professional cleaning servicesā€”or, in some cases, eliminate them completely.

  3. Reduced stress leads to better decisions: A clutter-free home brings mental clarity, which translates into smarter financial choices. When your space feels clear and calm, youā€™re less likely to make impulse purchases.

Hereā€™s what I want you to try:

Pick one cluttered space in your homeā€”a closet, pantry, or even just a junk drawer. Set a timer for 15 minutes and focus on decluttering. Get rid of what you donā€™t need and only keep what you love or use regularly. Once youā€™ve done that, youā€™ll start to see just how much extra stuff you were buying unnecessarilyā€”and more importantly, how much money you can save.

Decluttering isnā€™t just about creating a tidy home. Itā€™s a smart financial move that can lead to real savings. Whether itā€™s cutting back on cleaning help, reducing wasteful spending, or simply making better decisions, a clutter-free home can help you keep more money in your wallet!

Enjoy your Savings!

Love, Ellie
